Launch of a Private Security Industry Baseline Study in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC): Analysis of Haut Katanga and Lualaba

On October 7, 2019, l’Observatoire d’Etudes et d’Appui à la Responsabilité Sociétale et Environnementale (OEARSE) hosted a launch event for its baseline study: "The private security industry in the DRC: the case of Haut Katanga and Lualaba" in Lubumbashi, DRC. This study was developed within the framework of the Private Security Governance Observatory (the Observatory) and provides an analysis of the private security sector. It identifies the challenges presented by the industry and its operations, and proposes concrete recommendations for stakeholders to work together towards a better governance of the private security sector.
